In July 2009, Rooney's Boxing Gym owner, John Rooney Jnr. and myself were discussing White Collar Boxing events. In the past John's company had organised the boxing element of White Collar events for various City institutions. He felt that they could all have been improved upon. After our conversation it was decided that Rooney's Boxing Gym will create it's own series of events.
My involvement was full on as it covered conception, implementation, design, publicity and actual event promotion.
Judgement Day 1 took place at Cable in London SE1 on the 30th September 2009, this was followed on the 25th November by Judgement Day II. I had developed the format for the second event to include additional live entertainment (GiGi Ramone & SpiderBaby) as well as a special screening of TYSON THE MOVIE Platinum Knockout Edition. I also formulated a competition for Revolver Entertainment (UK distributers for TYSON THE MOVIE) who sponsored the event - http://rooneysgym.com/Competition.html.
As I had said my involvement included design - the image above was created for posters, fliers and on-line promotion. A modified version was used for Judgement Day II and the theme, albeit modified, will continue for further events in the series.
